It’s been more than two years since Michael Hotto was denied his medical certificate due to his history of “post-COVID neurocognitive deficits."

He got his medical certificate back after some expensive neuropsych evaluations.

2 years and $10,000 to prove to the bureaucrats that he is safe to fly.
This is a massive AOPA failure.

Every time you talk to ATC for free, you’re seeing what AOPA has done for you.

Not a defense of AOPA, but - COVID was an Earth killing event. No person or advocacy group could or would stand in its way. Glad this guy got it sorted out. $10k in med expenses to prove a negative(result) just yanks my crank.

OBTW I have flown from NC coast to CA coast multiple times and not spoken to ATC once. Quite enjoyable, mon guard, and put on the White Album and some PF.
