Friday afternoon I decided I didn't want to wait till morning to shuffle off to Utah. So we hopped in the Mooney and headed north. Upon reaching St. George we saw some dark clouds and rain in our path, but decided it looked harmless. (No it was not forecasted) Just about that time, we received a PIREP for thunderstorms in our direction of flight. then we saw the lightning...Made a u turn and landed safely in SGU along with a dozen other planes who didn't care to continue north. Stayed the night, and awoke to some spectacular clouds. thought Id share these photos with you.
