Just went on a tour of Ft Worth Center. My instructor arranged a group tour. That was really helpful for me as I am working on my IFR training. Helps me now picture what is going around me in airspace as I'm flying and taking with controllers. They did a presentation too and went over a lot of helpfu info and frequent questions etc. If you haven't done a tour I highly recommend it. They encourage tours and do a good job of explaining the process.

Neato! Never had the chance to visit an ARTCC but would definitely like to. Went through the local Class C Tracon a year or two ago and I can concur on the knowledge and information it provided being on the pilots side of things.

When I have done that, the last half hour or hour of the tour has been "plugging in" with individual controllers as they work their sectors. Did you get to do that? It was an incredible learning experience both from watching/listening and from being able to ask questions.

Yes we did that too. Got to listen in on arrivals and departures.
