The community of Georgetown, ME, into which I've moved is a -- by and large -- fishing community. However, the bulk of its population comprises the retired; not counting the summer swell of "frum awaaaaayy" families who have had vacation homes there for generations.

Georgetown is one of a group of islands, inclusive of an area known as Five Islands. I was surprised to learn, and I've only been there since June 07, that there would be a Fourth of July parade. And it was well done. If the photo isn't too large, here's an example of the subtle humor on the back of one of the floats. (Note: as relates to the guns, "Angus" is Maine's former Governor, Angus King.

. . . . and in the Georgetown Community Center, just to the left of my photo of the float, hanging from the rafters are these beautifully-crafted model airplanes. Wing spans average four to five feet.
