DETROIT (WXYZ) - The Toledo Air National Guard is performing exercise flights on Thursday night, and is making sure residents in southeast Michigan know that fighter jets will be flying unusually low and could be very loud between 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

The 180th Fighter Wing will conduct the test to exercise coordination between the Eastern Air defense Sector, Federal Aviation Administration and the 180th Fighter Wing.

"Those living in and around the Toledo, Sandusky and Southeast Michigan areas may hear and/or see fighter jets in close proximity to a Civil Air Patrol aircraft, which will be taking on the role of a Track of Interest (TOI). A TOI is an aircraft that has been identified as a potential threat," Senior Master Sgt. Beth Holliker wrote in a release.

The flights could be delayed due to weather concerns. The exercises are conducted on a routine basis as part of the North American Aerospace Defense Command's Operation Noble Eagle.

Seems like a good city to test their bombers with, too.
