I have a TKM MX-11 in my cessna 150. About every four weeks I start to get a straight static noise until I jiggle the radio around and it stops. Eventually, I pull the radio and spray the pins on the back of the radio with QD contact cleaner. This solves the issue for another few weeks until the process repeats.
I can see where one pin on the radio has some corrosion. Is there anything I can do? I read that some people suggest some corrosion X on the radio pins and the connection in the back of the tray?
Trying to limit my expenses so the longer I can keep the MX-11 working the better. If I do have to replace it what's a good slide in replacement?
