Tie Down the Plane!

So someone just happened to be filming this at that exact opportune moment?

Notice the elevator locked in the up position?

I'm throwing out staged BS on this one. Or it's testing of some kind maybe. But cool vid OP.

It says they started filming it when it started shaking in the high winds. Nice that no one went out and tied it at that time. Oh well, might be karma paying back a guy who bitched at line crew for touching his plane when he wasn't there.

Loan on the aircraft overdue, why would you document no tie down?

I think its a security camera video. As for the elevator, I bet they used the seat belt to secure the yoke, having it pulled all the way back.

I found it weird that the wind didn't push the airplane rolling back. I guess the pilot could have set the brakes. It had chocks, but only on the front of all three tires (another strange thing).

I've think I've heard this question somewhere before... :wink2:

Here's a less lossy version from 2011. Supposedly filmed in Gelendzhik, Russia.

You can see the left wing tiedown fluttering around, before the right wing tiedown stretches and snaps.

Yes but when the plane decided to come back it had a very nice landing.

That is an awesome GIF :yesnod:

Anyway I always tie down the plane if I'm going to leave it for a while, even in calm winds. You never know if jet or turboprop wash might give the airplane some air to work with :D
