Yeah that's what he said. the bartender asked him hy he did it and the physicist replied "quantum physics teaches that it's possible for the matter next to me to turn into a beautiful woman who will accept the drink and fall in love with me". Thread drift has to do with those threads you affix to your wings to study wind currents and while watching them intently, land gear up. Or so I was told.
