Think my fuel pump went out, I don’t hear it working when I push the on button and the circuit breaker will pop after the switch is on for several seconds.

Any idea how long these things last? Should I get an overhauled one for $800 or a new one for $1200. I guess being newer to aviation I kind of associate the word overhauled with refurbished, a product that will be hit or miss.

Always easier if aircraft / engine type is declared. Fuel injected restart 172?

It sounds like a bad pump but it’s best to troubleshoot before purchasing.

Piper Arrow PA28R180, Lycoming IO-360-B1E IIRC, fuel injected. Mechanic dropped by and said it’s time to order a new one, but everywhere is back ordered. Arg.

Tech likely correct but a short to ground may present in similar fashion.
