Friday we left the house at 6:00 made the border crossing into Canda at 7:15AM, Entered the Ferry Docks at Tsawwassen to board the ferry to Duke's Point but were 5 minutes too late to make the 7:45 sailing, so we waited until the 10:15 sailing for the 2 hour crossing to Nanaimo. We left the ferry at 12:20 and entered Vancouver Island taking Hyw #19 north to Port McNeil BC to pick up our new aircraft, arrived Port McNeill at 5:00 PM dropped the trailer at the airport and went to dinner at Gus's Sportsmans Bar & Grill and a motel room for the night.
Returned to the airport at 7:00AM Saturday to find the seller at the aircraft, with his help we had the Varieze on the trailer and ready to head home by 10:00.
This allowed us to make the last Sailing of the day back to Tsawwassen and home.
This allowed us to to suffer the biggest piece of Bull **** any Customs officer could hand out. we tried crossing the border at I-5 and the peace arch, this led to us being told we were to enter the secondary inspection area. so we did and entered the building to see the officer, we waited 45 minutes just to be told we could not enter at this location.
we were directed to go back into Canada, and try to enter the Hwy 99 commercial entry point. 15 minutes to get to this location only to obtain a form to import a "For re-sale" that required 2.5 hour wait. this put us back on I-5 south after 9:00PM for the 1.5 hour drive home. But we gotter-done
