The Virus

I see them at Sun-n-Fun all the time but I never see anyone that actually owns a Pipistrel..

I think their marketing department needs to be summarily dismissed.

Exactly what is appealing about that name?

At least it's better than their other model, the "Sinus"!

yes, the names are terrible.
Sinus looks cool but the name alone might give me pause about buying it.

Maybe they didn't consider English speakers when they named the planes...?

Remember the urban legend about the Chevy Nova?
Rumors of that not selling well in Mexico?

They weren't true as I understand but I always thought that was funny.

"Doesn't Go." That joke was told to me by a Mexican and there was more than a grain of truth in his voice. ;)

like 6PC's tech buddy from India who wanted to knock wood?

I don't understand why the Euro version of the Virus has a gross of 600kg (1323lb) but the US LSA version is set to 550kg (1210lb)...why not just make it 1320lb and get a monster useful load?!?

Because they know the Americans will stuff 1320# into it anyway?

(No one has ever flown a Cessna 150 illegally over gross, ever. :rolleyes2:)

Marketing seems to be all they've accomplished on the Panthera. Sweet looking bird if it ever makes it to production.

It's better than what the marketing guys originally came up with, the "ChunkyVomit."
