The Nobel Prize in Physics for Vodka distillation

Huge potential for water purification. Could save billions or trillions of dollars, and change the quality and length of life for citizens of impoverished nations.

The could save millions of lives. And like most public health breakthroughs, the inventors will never know for sure how many people will live due to their work.

Producing potable water from sea water via RO uses large amounts of energy (high pressure pumps) and expensive membranes...
Given that the graphene can be arranged in a membrane, analogous to RO water membranes, but does notappear to require large amounts of energy (in the form of pressure) to selectively move water molecules across leaving alcohol (and presumeably salts) behind could be a game changer... This of course depends on how much energy has to be supplied in the form of pumping to get sea water reverse osmosis with the graphene membrane compared to current Dow membrane...

just a few miles from the Dow membrane plant

Sounds like one could make really sweet birthday balloons that would last a LOT longer with it.
