Microsoft is launching a program to promote the use of its Windows [XP] OS in ultra low-cost PCs, one effect of which will be to limit the hardware capabilities of this type of device, IDG News Service has learned.

It's like admitting Vista sucks and that Linux is real competition.

Sneaky sneaky. Its only a big deal for crappo computers tho, Vista sucks, but this is more geared to a different user anyways.

Au contraire. Check out the HP 2133 MiniNote and the Asus Eee series. Different users, yes; I'm planning to buy a MiniNote for travel and meetings as a second computer, but it's pretty close to everything I'd want a primary computer to be.
