The Fog that Attacked UGN

Nice pictures. I like watching the fog from up high. Sometimes when flying above it or a marine layer it feels like I am high into the flight levels as I cruise along in my Warrior.

I was at Lowes in Gurnee at 9 PM and the fog was thick enough to block out the further parking lot lights.

Here's my shot of it- I think I went past it a bit earlier than the blog. It looked like a front moving in from my point-of-view

I flew this AM to Burlington, WI (BUU) to shoot a couple of approaches. No fog near the lake up here, but it was pretty hazy.

First time flying in two months.

About 2 weekends ago it was like that on the drive to KINT. Even though we were driving I felt like I was flying in and out of the clouds.

I got a good view of it departing Sheboygan that evening:

Gary Shelby once flew upto Towanda for a breakfast and 1/2 the field and runway was covered in a thick fog the other half of the runway was clear. Landing was pretty cool it was like landing into a tunnel.

Is that a "high wing," Kent? Does your DA-40 know you're cheating on her? :D

We have an open relationship - She doesn't like doing three guys at once, so we had to take the fat chick (182). ;)

Seriously, that's the most awesome part of being in the club. Not only is it cheap (relatively speaking, of course), but I can choose the right bird for the mission.

Right now, that means DA40 by default, but if I'm going into a rough strip or carrying a lot of weight, I can take the 182 instead.

If only your club was out of Watertown or something else east of MSN. There is just no club like yours out at Waukesha, Timmerman, or anywhere else that I know.

Stan, we have a guy in our club from Sussex. :D

Stan,

I live in Milwaukee. It's worth the drive.

We also have members from Sussex and Oconomowoc. I originally referred one of them to a club at UES, and after checking them out he decided to join our club at MSN instead.

I say again - It's worth the drive.
