So, you have all the necessary items for flying like a headset, training materials, kneeboard, etc, etc. What is the one thing if money were no object that you want but have not bought? Not thinking airplane but gadgets, clothing or even aviation related furniture.

This would probably be a splurge item I suppose.

I think would like to have a wooden propeller to mount on a wall. How about ya'll?

An A&P rating (I mean a full course, training, etc - not just a pencil-whipped rating)

A hangar home on a well established airpark with friendly people who are not HOa commies with multiple approaches established and near a major metro area without all the majo metro problems.

I'm good, but if you're asking I'll take some cowl louvers

My own private grass strip.

behind the house, well maintained.

While house hunting recently, I saw a home on Google maps near a strange clearing, went to satellite view and it was a private paved runway! OMG! About a half mile from the house we looked at. Didn't work out, we ended up elsewhere, but I was drooling with the possibility of meeting the owners.

I would like a personalized die-cast model of the plane to give my dad.
I had a friend that got one of his plane and it was pretty cool.
I think it was several hundred dollars though.

That's cool. There is a farm in my town that has it's own strip. I don't think they use it much/at all because it's not always mowed. I've been tempted to go knock on their door and see if what the deal is.

The tornado shelter thread got me thinking about this, but you know what would be ultra cool, is to have a very large basement man cave with a junked C150 or maybe a Cub hanging off the ceiling, and suspended in such a fashion that you and your buddies can climb in it, move the stick around and make airplane noises while drunk.

Or.... better yet.....

suspend it with wire rigging in such a fashion that it will pitch and roll with stick movement!!!!

Even chicks would dig that!

As a slight variation, I always thought it would be cool to buy a DC-4/6 and just park it on a ramp and open a flight school. I'd build classrooms inside the airplane and then I could park a fleet of 172s/PA28s under the wings.

Travolta's house.

Hands down the best Christmas gift I have ever received!!! My wife got me a model of our original 182 for Christmas about 10 years ago and added the 414 the next year and the 441 after that. I really don't like getting gifts, I much prefer giving them, but she really got it right with the models!!!:yes::yes:

Seriously? What about that is there for a chick to dig? Drunken men thrashing about in a suspended junk plane.

Had hoped for some gift ideas for my husband when I saw the thread title. Still hoping ...

You mean your husband has all the other things already suggested/identified? That's one lucky guy!

A Futuro House, so I can live in a UFO and make on lookers wonder why there's a UFO in that guys yard.....it can't actually fly but it would boost my ego...

Get him a set of QT Halo lightweight, in the ear headset. If he doesn't like it, you can wear it and avoid messing up your hair, while enjoying the lack of headache caused either by the clamping on your head, or the button on the cap. Halos go behind your head, not over it.
