I had a CFI who suggested I look up and answer ten questions a day, every day. He claimed he had been doing it for years. He now flies for American Express.

I have also being doing it, not as religiously as he claimed. I will get sick of doing it and knock off for a week or two. Even that short of a break shows up when I start again, which of course is the motivation to be more disciplined about it.

I use http://www.exams4pilots.org/ and another one http://www.risingup.com/tests/

It usually takes about five minutes. I keep the necessary stuff, E6-B, protractor, test book and calculator at my computer. This guy, with more than a few thousand hours, still does it every day. I'm sure he has more advanced questions than simple private written, nevertheless, it's a great habit no matter what level you are at.

John, not a propos of this post, but is John Baker your real name? Related to the former AOPA president of the same name? Total coincidence?

As in the credit card company?

God, I must have been tired last night. FED EX, he flies for Fed Ex. I hate credit cards, I don't know why I did that. He flies a Cessna Caravan for Fed Ex.

John Baker is my real name, I am not related to anyone famous that I know of.

Great idea. But I would add another goal of reading a flying related book monthly or quarterly as a way of staying fresh and deepening your knowledge as well. Re-doing the FAA test questions will keep that information in the quick recall banks, but I think it's even better if we can go a bit deeper.
