Final Approach
I needed to log an hour today, and we were supposed to get together with our daughter and two grandsons. That got me thinking...
Winds were 190 @ 8 kt, runway 12. We did two flights, each with Mom and one of the munchkins in the back seat of the 172. On the first trip we made a couple of laps around my daughter's office building so she would have something unique to enter in the monthly office photo contest. Both of the boys thought it was pretty cool. The older one fell asleep on the way back to the airport and was pretty upset when we woke him up back at the ramp and he realized he'd missed the landing (a really nice one, BTW). Told him no sweat, we'll do it again some time.
All I have are a few pics taken on the ground, but I'm sure I'll be able to collect some from my daughter of the boys in the air. It was the first time the boys had flown, and the first time my daughter had been up in anything smaller than a turbine powered cattle car. Pretty cool evening for all concerned! 1.2 hours and a note in the log book that I'll never forget.
