Certain expenses for operations like Angel Flight and Pilots and Paws can be tax deductible.

Anything else?

I just thought of Young Eagles, and maybe if you flew for some kind of disaster relief agency.

If you fly for a living everything.

My hangar, annuals, fuel used in my personal plane, charts, ipad, etc.

I was more thinking about the charitable donation aspect. I wasn't clear enough on that.

There are probably a number of ways that I just haven't thought about yet.

CAP. Flying, uniforms, even driving to meetings and events -- all deductible.

G1000 182 for $20-30/hour dry, deductible. Checkrides generally free as is most mission flying.

:confused::confused: You pay for some mission flying twice? Once in taxes and once directly?

That's a CYA because I don't know what goes on in every corner of CAP, everywhere in the country. Any mission flying that I am familiar with has been Air Force-paid.

That would be true if your plane is used only for business. Any personal use at all would change that significantly. Contact your tax professional for details.
