Talladega on Race day

Has anyone here landed at Talladega (KASN) on Race day? I know the airspace will be restricted right before and during the race. Are there special procedures for landing before and departure afterward?
 
I have read that past years have had the stmp program in effect, plus you have to reserve a parking $pace at Talladega muni, maybe you can find last yr's notam.
 
Yes, the parking goes critical race weekend. You need to make prior arrangements.
I think even Birmingham is dicey on Race Weekend.
 
STMP only applies when flying IFR, no? Parking of course is still an issue though.

I have driven to talledega several times, the traffic isn't too bad, nothing like Atlanta.:D

No,
The airport manager will issue and request flow control procedures. Even VFR arrivals will find delays and if you are not based at the airport or have a parking reservation you may be denied access due to airport exceeding capacity.
