I've been searching for a nose-wheel pant for my C172L to match the original which has cracks. Apparently, every other used nose-wheel pant in the country has the same problem. Stene Aviation has a new fiber glass version that's allegedly identical. $300+ plus delivery.
So today I learned of a same year plane as mine, not wearing a complete set of pants that look like they're factory new. $300, though different color scheme; no sweat, I can repaint the nose later. Deal! And no delivery charges because it's near where my plane is being annual-ed.
