G-Man
Cleared for Takeoff
Colorado's Front Range had truly perfect flying weather today and I got to share some airtime with POA's own Mtns2Skies. He's one of the most enthusiastic aviators I know and it's a pleasure to be around him.
It was about 20F and the wind was absolutely dead calm. This is incredibly rare. Density altitude was 2,000 feet versus actual of 5-6,000 and our 160-hp Cessna 172 comfortably saw 900fpm. (Yeah, he's a bunch skinnier than I am).
Mtns2Skies is a tailwheel fanatic and I have no time ground-handling one, so he flew left seat and handled taxi, takeoffs, and landings. We visited four local airports and had a great time.
The plane is a Cessna 172N with the Bolen conversion. Very basic avionics, but fun to fly - especially in this weather.
