I am an AP/IA at a flight school, and I get asked a lot to delve deeper into the systems of most trainers.
Do you think a YouTube channel that goes over aircraft engine, landing gear and avionics would be a beneficial tool for people going through their PPL?
I'm also open to taking ideas of what to post to help more people out. I know that sometimes information just isn't there, and if it wasn't for me already being a mechanic, I would have possibly had a hard time looking for answers.

I think if you didn’t limit your target audience to student pilots, there would be a significant niche there.

How to capture that market would be the bigger question in my mind.
I agree. If I could somehow base it around all GA flying and not just private students, that would help it kick off. I can get a consensus of all the most common questions from pilots and answer them.

Proper leaning techniques.

It was my plan to do exactly that at one time. The more I learned it became apparent you just can’t follow someone with a camera. TV has trained us to expect a scene change every 20 seconds or so. Planning the shoot is not an option. Probably 75% will ( or should ) be edited out. There are some good ones though. One on rebuilding a Cessna nose strut was well done.

Never too early to learn.

Yes, that is a very valuable resource to create. There is already a lot of very good content out there, include some excellent animations. I'd spend a week (or four) digging into what resources there already are, and deciding if you think there is a gap you can fill.

Full disclosure; writing, filming, lighting and editing are way more work than most people anticipate.

My thought was a modular concept.

ie Cessna - most flight control systems are somewhat similar.

Same for Cherokee line but different from Cessna.

Lycoming engines. a. Carbureted

b. Injected

So a vid could use Cessna, Lycoming , Cleveland , Slick etc.
