After freeing the mooney last weekend, I was able to pick up my Daughter and fly her back here to Havasu. She has brought her best friend from school and they are having a great time (swimming, boating, bowling and movies)
Her friend is turning 16 on Friday and is basically out of town for it. so I thought it would be fun to help celebrate it someway. I guess I have been out of the "in croud" loop for a while now, so they keep telling me. I am looking for suggestions on what you all think would be a fun thing to do for a 16 yr old girl on her 16th birthday...Now money is kinda limited thanks to school shopping earlier in the week, but I'm sure I can scrape up enough to do something for them.
Any ideas? suggestions?

Michael, I remember when I turned 16, the most important thing to me was receiving my drivers license. Why not rent a really sweet car for the day and let her drive for a short road trip.

Hmm...i think she has a permit, but dont think any responcible rental agency is going to let her drive. :(

I was thinking all of you would go. I am sure that any rental would not let her "solo". Just an idea.

and a very good idea at that.

I'm going to guess that anything a 16 year old girl wants you're not going to want to provide.

I have a 17 year old son you can give her. Hell, you don't even have to give him to her, just take him. He's yours!!!! I'll pay shipping!!!!!!

Ask them what they want and if it's within reason, do it and pay for it later. Just a suggestion from one who doesn't know she's not 16 any more. :)

What makes you thing he has any extra chips?

Because he got one on his birthday cake because it was easier than trying to spell his name with that fancy icing stuff. :)

throw in the extra chip and youve got a deal!
I think you intended to say,
"Chip, throw in the Extra and you've got a deal!" Otherwise, Lance has a point.

Even with the Extra it's not a good deal for you. Next week might be a different story but you don't want him this week. Also, you'll need to check on out of state tuition for USC before you decide to ink the deal. :)

On a more serious note..... my daughter, age 14, suggested taking them anywhere in a limousine. I guess girls that age love limo rides. She said take them to the mall for an hour, or to a movie. Doesn't matter.

great idea chip. I have a friend that knows a guy with a limo. Im going to give him a call.

Did I say it was my daughter's idea? Stupid, stupid, STUPID! It was MY idea. Mine, all mine! You hear? Who stole my strawberries? They laughed at me and made jokes, but I proved beyond the shadow of a doubt, and with geometric logic, that a duplicate key to the wardroom icebox did exist!

OK. I'm back.

If it's not too late: have a limo drop them off at the cinema. Fashionably late, when the line is the longest, have the limo drop them right at the front of the line. You, in rented tux, 'escort' the young ladies to the front of the line as everyone else in line is jaw dropped wondering which movie star they just saw cut in line. Buy the tix in advance so you can go right in, which perpetuates the perception your entourage has VIP status. Have the girls dress up for the event. Buy the girls flowers.

Limos are cheap now-a-days.

I find that us oldtimers have no clue what 16yr olds want, I have tried to guess gifts and activities and such - you really need to ask them, or their contemporaries.
