Survived my first engine failure on takeoff

Was your flow test done with the cap on or off? Did you remove the cap immediately after the reduction in power and hear a whistle or air rush sound or feel a vacuum?
Have you taken a little air pressure and blown in the fuel line back into the tank to see if that changes anything? If it does, you will have to clean the tank because something is in it now, for sure.
 
Vent is #1 - easy to test, leave the cap off and run full throttle on the ground...
Cork pieces in the needle valve on the carb is #2 - gotta pull it apart....

Then in my battered old memory are planes that acted strange because the primer was sucking air... It was changed, right?
It could also not be shutting off tight - but that should bother more at idle...
