It's almost Indy 500 time and unfortunately Jim Nabors won't be there (though they have him singing Indiana on tape), he's scheduled for heart surgery. He was almost dead a few years back (1994) when he contracted hepatitis and went into liver failure. He was lucky to be an early liver transplant recipient.

Now that you reminded me I think they were cousins or something on Mayberry? Then Jim Neighbors starred in Gomer Pile, USMC right? :confused:

I'm a child of the 60's/70's so grew up with that stuff. Jim Nabors was Gomer on Andy Griffith then got a spin off show of his own, "Gomer Pyle" which was also a success. Goober (Gomer's cousin) replaced him on Andy Griffith.

George Lindsay was also on Hee Haw. I was never into country music, but watched that show for the ahh, yeah, for the music, right......... :)

The title of this thread should have been "Judy...Judy...Judy". Gomer was the one that said "Surprise...Surprise...Surprise, not Goober. I'll see if anybody remembers why it should be "Judy...Judy...Judy.
