Matt and I watched this last week, very cool stuff. Both of us were thinking of the soaring possibilities. you could just ride the wave for as long as it lasted. of course after landing youd have a thunderstorm 20 miles to the west but details details

Tony, OT but you might be interested in bringing your Cherokee to the International Vintage Sailplane Association regatta in summer 2009 at Elmira, NY. It's a beautiful area, the soaring conditions are usually awesome, and it's cool to be soaring with 20-30 other gliders in the air. They have it every 4 or 5 years. I went in 2000 with a Ka-4. I didn't go to 2005 but heard it was great. I'm planning on going in 2009. Not sure of the dates yet.

bill i would love to go. didnt know you flew gliders! my glider has actually done some flying in elmira in the 70's, would be cool to take it back.

Wow, that's neat! I'd love to be able to see that in action. Did you see that sailboat out in the water? Man, that thing was all over the place.

I'd never heard of "undular bore" before.
