How are parts for the O-435?

I looked at one a few years ago, and probably would have bought it. But, by the time I was able to make contact with the widow, it had already sold. Neat airplanes.

I had an O-435A in my Bellanca Cruisemaster. It was not an easy thing to get parts. The engines were built in smaller lots than most others and not used extensively in any particular types. I believe the -11 engine was used in the L19 Cessna so its military. Some stuff is common to the O290....cylinder stuff, but those parts aren't too easy to come by either. I never had problems with my engine but it had pretty low time. I'd be a bit worried when it got up there. Much better engines out there to use like the O360 lycoming or the IO360 if you really need 200HP. The Stinsons did well on 160HP so no need to go too high. I'd think the O360 would be a good upgrade or the O320 in 160HP would be a good way to get out of a Franklin.

Just my opinions of course.
