My wife and I flew from FTY to AHN on Sunday to have lunch with our two kids that are attending UGA. My wife brought her camera and took a few good pictures. Our approach and landing in Athens, Stone Mountain and a temporay concert venue across the river from our house, called Tomorrow World.

image 3 and 4 are great!!

Is this from the 182 or Conquest?

They are from the 182, I'm glad I cleaned the windshield before we took off! :D I'm not sure how she avoided the prop showing up in the pictures? On approach it was probably at 15-1800 RPM and close to touchdown it would have been under 1000 RPM. She's pretty handy with a camera.

Really nice pictures, I love the short approach ones.

#4 is great, my fav.

If your flying is anywhere close to her photography, you are a hell of a hand.:D

Nice pictures like them all. Thanks for posting

What are the green and pink structures on the left side of the photo in #5? Porta-potties?

No where close! She just photographed my nephew's wedding at the beach, that's pressure! :yikes: Not many do-overs for wedding pics! But they turned out great! :D

I'm not sure, I don't think they are porta potties. We're planning on flying over it again this weekend, they are expecting 50,000 people per day! I'll try to get a better angle, but I didn't want to get below 1000 AGL.;)

Does anybody on here know why the prop didnt show in the pics? I would love to set my camera up to do this.

thanks

My question is how she filtered the shots. Haze, UV, what else?

Sunday was the epitome of 'severe clear'. It rained all day Saturday and the back side of it brought cool 'clean' air. There wasn't a single hint of a cloud in the sky until around lunch.

Great pics, btw. I was flying back in on Delta Wednesday and saw those pink circus tents as we turned final and wondered what they were.

maybe she was strapped to the undercarriage? :)

Even that would have showed the prop, but I digress.:D I'll ask her if she used any special settings or left it on automatic.:dunno: It was severe clear in the morning and with scattered clouds in the afternoon, but very little haze, which is a minor miracle this time of year!

My wife went on a tour tonight, those are tee-pees for people to sleep in, they include an air mattress! ;)

I am betting they are covers for a fireworks show for the event..:dunno::confused:

Tee-pees! They are renting them for folks to sleep in during the event! The come with an air mattress I believe! :D
This is gonna be LOUD at my house!! :mad2::mad2:

Beautiful pics John. Giving me flashbacks though. My plane only had 1 VOR in it. Can't tell you how many times I flew to AHN to park in the VOR checkpoint and check it.

Every. 30. days. :mad2::mad2::mad2:

Almost drove me to put in a Garmin 430!
