BB-448 would be an old straight 200 with electro-mechanical gear. If the pilot forgot to put it down, it doesn't matter which kind, but the failure rate for E/M is much higher than for the hydraulic system they have used since 1985.

He didn't forget. Made a couple passes of the tower at ALN (St Louis Regional) to confirm no gear.
