Makes me wonder what kind of gun he was using from 25 yards away. Typical handgun loads don't have a high enough power factor to detonate Tannerite. That stuff is used in high power rifle targets for long distance shooting. I can just see some Jackhole shooting at a piece of scrap metal packed with Tannerite from 25 yards away with his 30.06. It probably went something like, "...Here, hold my beer. Watch this!"
 
I'll admit I did buy a little Tannerite 'like' exploding target material last Fall(Cabelas). This was the 'rimfire pack', 12 or so modules you mixed together so they explode. I was on private property with the younger Son. We used a 17 HMR, worked just fine.

I just set them against a dirt bank, not trying to blow up any more materials. They do put out a pretty good boom when they go off. I'd think the larger ones have more boom & Blast.

It was kinda cool, don't feel the need to spend the $25 or so again on more.
