As I just took my Private Pilot Oral exam, I will offer my advice to others that are also preparing to take it. For about the past month I have looked online for good Q and A material and was able to find similar questions that are stated in the ASA Private Oral Book, found here.

I also watched the Private Pilot Oral exam video on YouTube which features Allan Englehardt, even though it was filmed in the late 90's it's still relevant, and is good for review. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kr483zBbQKw

Most importantly get proper oral training from your CFI, and plan for several sessions. Get a good mock oral, which will help you know if you are able to answer at least 80% of the questions.

Ask people around your flight school of topics your local DPE likes to hit, and make sure you know them.

Last of all, know that you will not know everything the DPE will throw at you, and just relax. I was nervous/anxious about this part of the test, but I will tell you, its not as bad as its made out to be, just make sure you know the material.

Good Luck!

Excellent!

I'd add that there are some things you do need to know, but there are not many. Basically, the rule of thumb is that if you could look it up in real life, it's OK to look it up in the exam. For instance, whether you can fly with a broken nav light. You have to know most emergency procedures; you won't be looking up spin recovery after you've entered a spin.
