Student PPL Chicks

Hey Bryan, I got checked out in my hangar mate's RV-6A come on out if you want to fly in a two seat RV. Its like flying a sports car.

I'll try and get out there soon. I have a bottle of hooch for you and the misses. I brew dessert wines around the holidays and I have one earmarked for you.

Nothing sparks competition like your spouse over on her computer tearing through tests like they are nothing. She is on her third tonight.

As a result, I am on my 2nd IR test. I know it is going to get harder but 1/4 through and 91 average.

The test she is currently taking is one I took. If her score is better than mine, I have to go to the fridge and get her a beer. That was the bet.

Portland has some dang good beers.. So does San Diego.. Hmmmm if there was a POA beer meetup in SD........

POA beer meetup? You are speaking my language!!! :) Not to mention I am already in San Diego! :-D

Don't want to thread hijack, but it you ever make it down this way, hit me up, buy ya a beer at Hess. They opened a new location in North Park a little while back. Many breweries within a few of miles of KMYF as well.

Back to your regularly scheduled programming of Eren hopefully beating Bryan on the written! :)

Sound like they're ready for the smoker.

The young ones don't really take smoke that well. Steam them or use them in soup....

EDIT: wrong browser window again, this shoulda gone to cannibals anonymous

I help her with her ground training.

Couples who share interests and hobbies have a considerable advantage in the relationship department than those who don't. I'll bet their over-represented in the 50% of couples who don't get divorced.

Doubt it. Women would rather have a cool husband to '***** brag'* about then actually do stuff.
*When she is at work telling her friends He ditched me on my birthday to go basejumping with his buddies what she is really saying is your husbands, who stayed home and made you breakfast and lavished presents on you, are wimps. They won't say it that way, but they all understand it. Chump dudes overhearing this stuff just think why would she date a jerk.

This was fun, though I wonder what the other bar patrons thought about our toys. :D

they prolly thought that with that much nose down at that altitude recovery would be difficult or maybe impossible...well maybe they didn't think that

I agree on the 172 as your first plane to get all papered up. Get one IFR certified with at least a 430W, for a few hundred bucks u can get a pre-buy check by a sound mechanic and you should get your money back when you are ready to upgrade.

That and custody arrangements with an airplane are tough! Lane could never decide which parent she wants more time with.

A 172 is a great first plane especially one with a 180 hp conversion. I just sold mine in December. It had a useful load of 1013 lbs and performance was fantastic at 8.5 gph. Moving up to a Bonanza this month.

Good luck with your PPL! My wife is a very active participant in our flying and it sure makes the hobby/wallet diet experience more enjoyable.

Man, you're spoiled. When my wife says "let's go out" it usually involves me carrying packages from store to store around the mall. Never does it involve beer.

I'm in the same boat as Gerhardt. If I'm sitting on the couch with my iPad doing my usual pilot activities (POA, Foreflight, checking weather, etc.) and my wife asks me what I'm doing, I'll just lie and say "Just looking at porn." It's much easier that way.

Take a closer look at their props. They're not high-wings.

Besides, I have a feeling that the only diamond his bride wants is on her finger. Not so much on her forehead as she's doing the preflight.

Eh, I'm the one asking for a Cessna right now. Though all I've flown is a 172 and the Tampico, but that Cessna WANTS to fly and the Tampico seemed a little perturbed that I made it leave the ground. I am still only 3 lessons in, so I am not counting low wings out yet, but that 172 was extremely stable, and I really like that.

Plus, I'm really short, so I can usually make it under the wing just fine. :D

On the tampico check your trim if its reluctant to leave the ground at rotation speed (which is higher than a 172)/

It was a long time ago when I flew a Tampico. I thought it was the coolest plane on the ramp until we took it for a couple of trips around the pattern. I have to agree that it felt underpowered and made me feel about like I did the first time I got in a Mazda RX-7 when they first came out. Looked fast, but not much more power than my Pinto.

Almost everyone loves the 172. Not sexy, but very comfortable and reliable. (I'll shut my mouth now before I make a comparison that could have life-altering consequenses.:yikes:)

I am Martina's (Skywalker) husband. One word of caution, though. When your wife says something like this...

[...] However, my husband will benefit from my experience when he will do his instrument rating...:hairraise::lol: [...]

...it actually means that she will give you flight lessons, no matter whether you asked for them or not. Plus, you'd better get used to obey the constant stream of orders... :wink2:
Still, I very much enjoy flying with her and appreciate that we share this passion.:goofy:

Cheers,

Oliver

Might consider a Warrior II. Pa-28-161

About 115kts cruise, 8gph, 950 useful load with autopilot and 430w. Our club has three of them. I checked out in one right after getting my PPL in a 152. Super easy to fly. Low maintenance. Many pilots in our club train for their private in them.

See, we don't discriminate when it comes to toy planes.

Great Eren. Now someone is going to comment on the paint color in this room too.

HAHA just realized this was just after I shaved "chops" to see if anyone would notice. Sometimes people take photos when I am mid-stupid.
