I am going to be applying for a class 3 medical student pilot. In the last 3 years I have had a Mohs surgery on my face for basil cell carcinoma. I also had a couple of spots removed from my shoulder and chest area. What if anything will be necessary.

I have read Dr B say that he wants to see “clear at the margins” in surgical notes

bcc ... basal cell cancers are no problem ... i would issue with explanation ... FAA may or may not want records.

I would issue and send the record in. Moh’s by definition is “resection until clear margins”. Hate getting letters....

I always thought Moh's was Talc, Gypsum, Calcite, Fluorite, Apatite, Orthoclase, Quartz, Topaz, Carborundum, and Diamond.
But then I was was a rock hound (somewhere I have all of the above, except for diamond in a box). (Oddly, both are named after Frederic(h) Mohs, but centuries apart).
