This is very disturbing. Flightaware track does not show anything unusual.

Ugh a discovery flight no less. Sad.

Doesn’t the speed seem a bit high at the end? Or is it not indicated that close to landing.

The last ping was half mile from the threshold, 200 ft, 64 knots and 667 fpm descent. That looks very normal to me.

I suspect the cause of this accident was the passenger.

I suspect the cause of this accident was the passenger.

According to article
“other was a person interested in becoming a flight student”

Could be panicked or suicidal passenger.

This was the 3rd crash in our area in less than a month. Very sad..

"According to News4Jax aviation expert Ed Booth"

Hmmm, what does it take to be an aviation expert? I suppose Mr. Booth qualifies... Aviation Accident firm in Jacksonville Florida - Personal injuries qualifications - Ed Booth

But I would love to see some back up to his assertions. The cynic in me thinks he may be working to bias his jury pool.

Usually an account on PoA is enough. But to be a TRUE expert you need to be a member of the most exalted, superlative, and all knowing @Pilots Of America Management.

[Ed Haywood]

I suspect the cause of this accident was the passenger.

Based on what?

Based on what?

The limited data available suggests a normal approach to 200 agl.
