Does anyone use strikestarus.com to track lightening strikes? It appears to be gone.
Blitzortung.org
Click where it says 'real-time map'...it's a blue link at top middle of screen.I can't find a way to zoom in on that site.
windy.com shows them if you go turn on the weather radar
It gives good visibility to where strong convective activity and nasty storms are.Can someone explain to me why one would ‘track lightning strikes’ outside of how it would impact your flight, or storm chasing type stuff or maybe for photography?

Right, so for flight planning, gotcha.

If you only fly where the lightning strikes have been historically, you won't get hit by lightning.
