    Dr. Bruce,

Thanks again for your help with my medical last year.

I was going to email you, but thought I would ask the question here in case others wondered. I think in a response in another thread you mentioned an annual stress test.

As a general rule for a healthy over 50 male, how often would you recommend a stress test? In my case I had a stress test one year ago that was negative and I went longer than anyone else my Cardiologist could remember (although that may not be saying that much since most of his patients are old and many have heart conditions) I had an ischemic stroke three years ago. I was thinking of repeating my stress test every two - three years. I highly respect your opinion and would like to know your thoughts on the matter.

Thanks again for your help and all the advice you give.

Hi, I'm TERRIBLE as to recognizing who is behind the "handle".

So if you have a known situation with CAD the runs should be every year and in community medicine it is, also.

If you do NOT have know CAD, then it determined by your doc on a sliding scale of Family history, and the state of your concurrent CAD risk factors.
