Street Signs No Longer Use ' or " ?

Sometimes those signs are serious..

If you haven't seen it before, it gets interesting a little past the mcdonalds.

Wow! That's an amazing video -- some very lucky drivers. Falling rocks kill someone in Colorado fairly regularly, usually in cars and sometimes hikers. I'd guess once or twice a year. It's one of those things you can't really predict or prevent -- the rock is either going to fall on your car or not and there's nothing you can do about it.

There is a sign with flashing yellow lights that reads " Urban Area Stay Alert" in Easton Maryland. Pretty sure Easton.

There ain't anything that URBAN on the Eastern Shore.

Down on US-29 just north of Lynchburg we have flashing lights to warn us of "Low Visibility."
Of course if it's really foggy you can't read the sign.

Amidst all the hilarity you/we are missing the sea change.
If you are over roughly 24 or so you can't see it happening. But the prepubescents to roughly early 20's live in a different world than you and me.
Yes, they speak everyday english around you and me - because they have to, for now - but between themselves they have different norms, different conventions, and even a different language within our language. It goes way beyond the teenage slang you and I grew up with - and no longer use..
The ubiquity of the net and their electronic gadgets have allowed them to create, not a shadow government, but a shadow society. A new order. It has happened at blinding speed. From roughly the middle 90's to now (about twenty years) And when they take control over this world, about another twenty years, the road signs will start to become all but incomprehensible to you and me. The comedians on late night TV will seem to speak in gibberish. Employers will find that their new employees will decide on the working conditions - and he will find that if he doesn't go along, with a few keystrokes the rejected applicants will have no one offering to work for him, period.
In 50 years the way you and I speak/write - and the road signs - will be like reading Shakespeare in the original Elizabethan English. Try it. Only about every 4th word is comprehensible. Most changes in the way societies think and structure daily life are slow and imperceptible to those living right then (other than losing a war). But this one is right in your face - if you bother to look up and see.
