Stratus 2 tips, tricks & gotcas

Gotchas. I already got cas. Just got one. Read the manual and think I pretty much got it figured out. Haven’t flown with it yet though. I fly with my IPad mini with WiFi and Cellular Data off and in Airplane Mode. Only thing I leave on is Location Services so it gets GPS signals and drives Foreflight. To connect to Stratus I’ll obviously have to have WiFi on but can turn off Location Services and save a little battery maybe? What else do I wanna know about Stratus 2?

I'd leave location services on so you have a backup when the Stratus craps out.

If it’s truly a 2 and not a 2s, and if you charge it in flight, be prepared for the charging to fail. That’s because of a badly designed connector in the model 2. And that’s why I replaced mine with a 2s, which has a better connector.
