Statins

Going in for first student / 3rd class medical. Over 50 and in great health but take a statin to lower cholesterol (simvastatin). Looks like that's ok, but may require a status report from my doc. How likely is that? Should I try to get it before I go or just wait to see what AME or FAA say? Thanks.

I usually do the status report for the "statins". If you're having problems is so danged obvious.....But some doc has to make the statement, "no side effects apparent".

But in general:

just wait to see what AME or FAA say?

Never do that. Ever.

Unless, of course, you like the idea of shooting yourself in the foot and locking yourself out of Sport Pilot and anything else that may come along in the future.
