Hi all,

I had dinner inside the State Department last week when I was in Washington D.C. with the American Legion.

This is a picture of a Sculptor that is in the courtyard of the State Department.

I thought it to be Jupiter sitting on top of the world.

Does anyone know who or what sculptor this is?

Thanks,
Terry

Thanks,

I was searching all kinds of Greek/Roman gods and coming up empty handed.

Either John Kerry or Hillary, both want to rule the world.

It says the statue celebrates the beginning of space exploration. Interesting that a courtyard in the State Department became the home to that theme, and that the fountain incorporated subtle themes like mythology.

In Moscow they absolutely flaunt putting the first man in space with a colossally unsubtle statue of Yuri Gagarin atop a spectacular pedestal in one of the busiest intersections:

Looks a bit like my ex after she'd had a few.

In front of the State Department? It's not a sculpture, it's an email shredder.... :)

You are all wrong. The sculptor was Brian Williams.

And it seems that O'Reilly's tall tales make Brian's seem trivial.

Report from the war zone in the Falklands? BTDT!

Witness four nuns being executed in El Salvador? BTDT!

Knock on the door as George de Mohrenschildt commits suicide? BTDT!

You'll never hear me defend Brian but at least he was actually WHERE he says he was.
