Starlink......again.....

Our phone number when I was a kid was “DIAL MTV” without the 800. I would believe.
My first house in LA, 1980, had the same phone number as a music store in Nashville. I had to explain the magic of area codes to a large number of country music fans...

I have a magic number (this I got when Margy and I lived and worked in places with really lousy cell coverage). 877 RON MARG. Turns out that there's some RV dealer named RON NASH (NASH and MARG) are the same digits so I occosonially got his calls from a similar toll free number (he's since passed). The strangest one was I started getting calls one evening for people wanting to give money for Nashville relief. Margy was confused but I turned on CMT on TV and sure enough they were running a benefit show. The number on the screen was right *888 766 NASH" but the announcers would frequently say 877 766 NASH which is our number. I finally just set the outgoing message to refer them to the correct number and blocked the calls from ringing. Margy tells me I should have asked for them to leave their credit card numbers and ATM pins and such, but I'm not so devious. (Ask me about my ATM sometime).

My Texas Starlink gets 200+ mbps. The Alaska one gets about 125 mbps. Those are roof mount. I have a Mini on my Sprinter van, fixed mount, and it has never missed a beat while parked or moving between Alaska and Texas, or Florida to Mexico. I’ve never thought to speed test it but it’s never hiccuped.
