Standard Rate/Bank Angle

I'm curious why you used sin (90-bank) instead of just cos (bank).

'cos my mathemagics is not up to much.

I just worked it out to my satisfaction and missed a bit.

On the other hand - the way I have written it uses the same angle into both the trig functions which has a pleasing symmetry. Not sure what I prefer. Usually I guess, no one cares what the horizontal acceleration is and so using cosine would be better in that case.

Thanks.

Controller: I was giving approach vectors to this T-37…on the first approach, I thought I was a little late with the intercept vector, but it looked like it worked out, so I adjusted the rest of them. Musta been more wind than I thought.

:D

T-38

And he did NOT adjust the rest of them. That is why I started just cranking and banking as needed.

I was in the back under the hood, VFR for the IP in the front, so I was not worried.

I did that the first 2 - 3 approaches.
I guess you was stuck with a slow learner. Or, maybe he was mad at you for some reason.:fingerwag:

EDIT: Just read your last reply to MauleSkinner. Maybe the IP cut a deal with the Controller somehow to F with you:devil:
