Good Evening,

I have been working with my regional flight surgeons office after my AME never uploaded a progress note for my deferred exam. I can’t say for certain why, however they (RFS) have been so helpful, in getting me back on track. They recently sent me a reconsideration letter requesting a detail progress note (they listed out everything the doctor has to mention) and requested a 5 year pharmacy record. I have used CVS for as long as I can remember and went to the location today and they stated they only retrain 2 years of records and have no way of getting the 5 year. Has anybody that has gone through this worked with CVS and is it possible to get the 5 year somehow? I have changed jobs a few times, but luckily have always used CVS. I’m just concerned since (atleast they say) they don’t have 5 years that it will not be satisfactory for the RFS. Please forgive my ignorance on this subject. Thanks!

Can’t you get the records from a treating physician(s) to suppliment the CVS records? I haven’t had that request, but getting letter from the treating physician was always a request for my case.

Try their records request number: 800-287-2414

You have to ask the pharmacist for the corporate office correspondence address, they have it all going back for as long as you can remember. IIRC there is a $10.00 nominal fee and it takes about 2 weeks to obtain.

Thank you all, I was able to get those records. Another question, and I apologize. In the pharmacy records there is a single prescription for trazadone that was prescribed prior to a surgery and the medication following the surgery. Are they going to cause a stink over the misc medications on the records? The medication causing the concern is in there with dates but I’m wondering if I should send anything else in with the progress note. I know folks say nothing more or less then they ask for, but I can’t control what is on that pharmacy record and I’m sure they wouldn’t take to kind crossing out medications even if they don’t apply to the diagnosis causing the hold up. I don’t want to open any unnecessary can of worms. Curious of your thoughts. Thanks again all!

Get documentation that you had surgery at that time!
Thank you. I figured they would be the path but I wanted to be sure to follow the “Don’t give them more than they need, only give them what they ask for” route.
