    Hello

I’m a private pilot who spent the last year being treated for an anxiety disorder. I spent about seven months on Prozac during treatment and right now I’m waiting for my 60 days off.
The psychiatrist who was treating me died unfortunately. I know that I need a recommendation from my treating professional. I was also under care of a practioner who managed my medication. Would a recommendation from her work or should I get an evaluation from a psychiatrist who is still breathing? Thank you.

Not useful to 2nd guess what the FAA will need. I approach such by carefully wording your medical application. 3rd class medicals are the easiest.

IF this was your one and only event in your life
IF there was a clear stimulus to it
the PCP writes: One and only event, reactive depression/anxiety due to ____. Stimulus is gone, and he is off medication for 60 days and has no symptoms left to treat." Signature, date.

That will get deferred but will win a certification.

    What is a PCP?
I filled out an application online and I’ll go see an examiner when 60 days are up

I think he means Primary Care Practitioner. We used to call them General Practioner. Or family doctor. I don't know why we had to complicate it up.

Remember it is 60 days “of Record”.

Yeah I sent the FAA an email and I’ll go see the examiner 60 days after the email was sent. So I’ll bring them a note from the practioner who prescribed the meds and met with me about my condition and my normal physician and that should be enough? Hopefully???
