SSRI Decision Path 2 transition to path 1

Hey all, I recently did a medical exam where we initially put me on path 2. After talking to a psychiatrist, he recommended me coming off my medication. I was wondering what the process would look like for this, I’ll try to include all of the pertinent info below

Was put on Sertraline 25mg 11/2025 for depression
Moved up to 50mg 12/2026

Applied for 1st class medical on SSRI decision path 2 7/13/2026

Saw psychiatrist 7/23 who recommended getting off medication considering all of my symptoms had resolved and my depression was situational

Never been hospitalized
Never had suicidal ideations

I sent all of my records preemptively to the FAA to expedite the process
 
If you currently have an ON SSRI certificate, this might require the HIMS psychiatrist to concur. After all the ON SSRI path was designed for "recurrent" disease. Now you have to convince them it was NOT recurrent. You need to ask Dr Ando, I hope he's see your files?

However: if you never have been issued on Path 2, this should be not too much of a problem.

I have never been issued on Path 2, this is my first medical certificate after being on an SSRI
