Sportys Chartview and Acroread V7

Has anyone gotten the Chartviewer to work with AcroReader V7 ? It complains about pdf.ocx having a problem... but there ain't no pdf.ocx with V7 of AcroReader... at least not on my system.

Same problem on my end. I uninstalled version 7 and reinstalled version 6. All is well. Version 7 does not have pdf.ocx. Version 6 does.

They must have hard-coded something in the program.

Grrrrr.....

I'll move back to V6 for now... but in the morning I'll call Sportys. Thanks, Bill !

Here's the solution from Sportys:

The manufacturer of the Adobe reader software has made changes to this software which will not allow our Chart Viewer to play on the version 7.

There is a fix that will allow you to view the software on the installed version only. Please follow the steps below.

1. Double click “My Computer”
2. Right click on your DVD drive
3. From the menu choose “Explore”
4. Double click “update.exe”
5. Click on the button labeled “Click Here to Update”
6. Close the window and the Chart Viewer is updated to work with Adobe 7.0

As stated above this will allow the DVD to play on the installed version, not the “Run from DVD” version.
