Split screen on iPad mini?

I fear Apple's product cycle is soon to make my iPad 2 obsolete. Looking at the mini as a replacement.

So, how does it handle split screen for WingX in particular? How is the readability?

yes is does, screen is fine.

Split screen on WingX is fine on the Mini's.

Functionality is as quick as anything.

Readability is a YMMV item since older eyes might prefer bigger screens and better resolution to minimize having to pinch zoom and pan/scan.

Best thing to do is to find a pilot buddy who has the Mini you're considering, go fly in the right seat with WingX loaded and play with the system to your satisfaction.

I use Wing X and while it works, I have my student using the iPad 3 with the split screen while I use the mini with the single screen.
