I see there are various STC's available to split the nosebowl on the PA-28-140. Has anyone actually been through it and have any idea of how much labor is involved?

Talking a fiberglass nose bowl right? That should be pretty easy, just some overlap tabs to put in after cutting, then drill some holes.

Why? You can already get at the whole engine by just flipping up the cowling.

Any time you need to access anything directly behind the nosebowl, say the alternator, the prop has to come off. Also you can't run the engine with the cowl off and just the nosebowl on.
