Spark Plug CHT Sensor Question

When changing spark plugs with the spark plug ring type CHT sensors is it necessary to re-anneal the ring prior to installing the plug? I know it's necessary to either use new gaskets or re-anneal the original gasket and that only the ring sensor is used, not in conjunction with a new gasket. And if so, is it possible to do so without disconnecting them from the rest of the harness?

I maintain some radial engines that have those, I haven't done anything with them for years and there are no problems, just make sure they are clean when you installed the plug
