My wife and I were talking about this thread and the question arose:

If parents of an ugly baby knows and/or will acknowledge that their baby/ child is ugly?

Who here has an ugly baby (child)? Confess and be forgiven:rofl:

I wish my 3girls were ugly. I have a 3year old and twins that are 10 months old. All are blonde hair blue eyes and great smiles, I fear when the boys come around, if they were ugly I would feel better.

I've always thought all babies looked the same.

:yeahthat:
And until they're about 2 years-old, they're all pretty homely.

Rug rats...ugly.

Curtain climbers...barely acceptable.

Yard apes...starting to act and look somewhat humanoid...somewhat...

At least they can be picky about the boys and not choose a pilot! ;)

I thought that about 99% of babies look ugly when they're born. Still do.

But my baby, he's in the 1%. So is my good friend's baby born a month before mine.

I have always thought all baby's were kind of ugly, including my own. My ex wife, of course, thought ours should have been a baby model. Go figure. They need to grow some hair and get some personality and that takes at least a year.

Beautiful babies grow up to be ugly people.

:)

I once read an article about a pediatrician who was asked many times if he'd ever seen an ugly baby, and how he dealt with the dilemma of commenting on an ugly baby's appearance to the parents.
He said, "It's simple. If it's a beautiful baby, I say 'What a beautiful baby!"
If it's an ugly baby, I say 'He/she looks just like you!'"

Me too. I mean I can generally tell the black ones from the white ones, but that's about the extent of it.

I automatically disqualify myself from any future work in a maternity ward. No guarantees the parents will leave with the same baby they brought in.

Here's a big hint. All newborns are ugly. How many people do you know who admit that?

Well... as someone who's delivered a few a them, there are reasons for that. They've just been through a rather challenging ordeal. Their parents (especially their moms) usually don't look their very best at that moment, either.

Give them a day or so out of the womb and they cuten up. The babies, I mean. The parents, not so much...

0-7: useful as a food source
8-12: useful slaves
13-16: no longer useful as slaves, use as farm field fertilizer
17+: 10% that survived the farm field fertilizer are useful

Babies are tagged and labeled within minutes of birth.

My child is ultimate baby cuteness. I dare you to say otherwise.

My CFII told me when his son was born he was in the hallway looking at them cleaning him up. He thought "wow what a ugly baby". A lady walked up and said "is that your son? He looks just like you."

If you add a cigar most babies would look just like Winston Churchill.
